Tech Alpharetta and Seraph Research Foundation Partner to Provide Accredited Investor Venture Capital Training

Seraph Research Foundation offers Venture Investing Courses March 17 and March 24

Alpharetta, Ga. (February 17, 2022) – Tech Alpharetta, the nonprofit organization helping the City of Alpharetta to lead in innovation, announces its partnership with Seraph Research Foundation (SRF), to host SRF’s Introduction to Venture Investing courses. SRF will offer its courses to accredited potential investors at the Tech Alpharetta Innovation Center on March 17 and March 24, 2022

“From smart manufacturing and transportation technology, to healthcare IT and financial technology, there’s a strong demand for angel and seed capital to fund emerging startups,” says Karen Cashion, CEO of Tech Alpharetta. “Growing North Fulton’s investor community will help to fuel the growth of startup innovation both here and across the metro tech ecosystem while offering unique opportunities for accredited investors. We’re excited to partner with Seraph Research Foundation to provide the courses here in Alpharetta.”

SRF’s investing workshops will be taught by Tuff Yen, the founder and CEO of SRF, and by SRF guest instructors, each of whom have more than 20 years of investing experience. Yen is also the founder and CEO of Seraph Group, a national angel investment firm. With 28 years of venture capital and angel investing experience, and more than 130 investments exceeding $150 million in his portfolio, Yen has developed a practitioner case-study education course designed for accredited beginners. In addition to its Introduction to Venture Investing course, SRF also offers Advanced Venture Investing workshops.

“Over the past 30 years, venture capital has helped generate trillions of dollars in the U.S. economy, yet many qualified individuals have never been offered formal training on venture investing and don’t know how to begin,” shares Yen. “Our goal at SRF is to raise a new class of angel investors to capitalize on the innovation economy by funding emerging opportunities presented by talented entrepreneurs.”

A Berkeley and Yale School of Management graduate, Yen previously worked at Chase Manhattan Bank’s Venture Capital division, now part of JP Morgan Bank. In 2021, he founded Seraph Research Foundation to help combat the lack of private risk capital for budding entrepreneurs and start-ups.

In addition to offering training courses and workshops, SRF and Seraph Group are hosting informational meetings at Tech Alpharetta to explore the creation of a North Fulton-based, professionally managed angel investment/seed fund group that will invest in opportunities in North Fulton and throughout the state.
