The City and Tech Alpharetta recently completed their joint count of the number of tech companies headquartered or operating in Alpharetta as of December 2018, ranging from tech startups, including those working in Tech Alpharetta’s startup incubator, to enterprise-level companies, such as Microsoft, which runs its Microsoft Technology Center in Alpharetta.
“We’re excited that technology continues to be a leading industry sector in Alpharetta,” noted the city’s Mayor, Jim Gilvin. “Our community offers significant advantages for new and relocating tech companies. Most notable is our robust infrastructure, which includes citywide power redundancies, higher than average download speeds and abundant data centers. This, coupled with our skilled workforce and thriving ecosystem, make the city extremely attractive to tech companies. Alpharetta offers the largest suburban office market in Metro Atlanta, along with a flourishing downtown, outstanding schools and an excellent quality of life,” he added. “We invite new and relocating tech companies to consider everything that Alpharetta has to offer.”
Todd Harris, COO and co-founder of Hi-Rez Studios, and president of Hi-Rez Studios’ esports subsidiary, Skillshot Media, both headquartered in Alpharetta, shared that “Alpharetta’s skilled tech workforce and excellent quality of life made it the perfect location for our headquarters when we founded Hi-Rez Studios in 2005. It’s been exciting to watch Alpharetta’s exponential growth as a tech hub and the rise of its thriving innovation community over the thirteen years since we founded Hi-Rez Studios, and we look forward to continuing to grow here in Alpharetta.”
Karen Cashion, CEO of Tech Alpharetta, observed that “Alpharetta, the Technology City of the South, has evolved into a booming tech hub that offers tech companies and their workforce a true community through the rich variety of locally-based educational and thought leadership programs offered by Tech Alpharetta and other organizations. Another benefit is Tech Alpharetta’s highly successful startup incubator located at the Tech Alpharetta Innovation Center.”
