The seventh episode in Tech Alpharetta’s Driving Innovation podcast series features a Tech Alpharetta Innovation Center graduate that has pivoted to adapt to market needs during the pandemic. John Wichmann, COO of Maptician, shares the company’s mission to provide software to help companies implement a safety-focused return to their offices.
Pre-COVID-19, Maptician was a cloud-based office space management tool that helped businesses visualize their office space to accelerate the path to better employee engagement and company productivity. With the pandemic, Maptician saw the need for a visual approach to help organizations assess social distancing risks within their offices and plan a return strategy that supports the needs and timelines of their location. Maptician rapidly developed a new software feature to address both needs.
“We quickly adapted to our customer’s needs and are now able to help companies focus on the future, post pandemic,” shared Wichmann. “We are helping them navigate how to use their space in a more hybrid and flexible way to meet the needs of the organization and the employees.”
Maptician graduated from the Tech Alpharetta Innovation Center in 2019. After graduating, they chose to remain headquartered in the city of Alpharetta.
“The community that Tech Alpharetta created is really special, it was a great environment for learning and company growth,” added Wichmann “We decided to stay in Alpharetta because there are so many tech companies and talent here already. We love the momentum and energy the city has.”
