Lance Morsell, MPA, is the Economic Development Manager for the City of Alpharetta, where he focuses on recruiting new companies and expanding existing businesses in the city. Nerd Wallet named the city of Alpharetta as the best place to start a business, and the US Census Bureau ranked it as the 6th fastest growing municipality in the nation.
Morsell started his position with the City of Alpharetta in November of 2021. Soon after, he was appointed to Tech Alpharetta’s Board of Directors, by CEO Karen Cashion, to build a stronger relationship between the city’s economic development and Tech Alpharetta’s initiatives.
“Alpharetta’s great quality of life is something that the people who have been here, live here and work here know well. I think communicating that to a larger audience hasn’t been done, especially in economic development,” said Morsell. “Getting the word out about Alpharetta’s fantastic schools, tech community, multi-use paths and nightlife will continue to grow the city.”
In the evolving tech industry, workers are becoming more focused on finding a place to raise their families and a work-life balance. Alpharetta supports the growth of the local tech community by pushing the city’s reputation of being the “technology city of the south” and involving local tech ecosystem members with outreach for events. Alpharetta offers a growing tech infrastructure while also providing a unique quality of life.
